Paycycle's Pricing Plans

Today we published Paycycle's pricing scheme on our website. To check it our, you can check our Pricing page.

Just as a reminder, during Beta stage we will remain FREE AS A BIRD.

We are publishing the pricing plans because we know you are curious about them, but we will only start charging after our launch in April 2010. Also, all plans will come with a free trial for 30 days before you start paying the monthly fee.

You'll be able to upgrade or downgrade as you like. No suscription fees, no termination fees, no updates fees, no additional fees.

Very flexible, simple and convenient! Just the way we like it.

Nice to see the pricing plans.  It's a shame you have limited the feature options for small businesses.  I would have thought a better option would be to make all features available to all users, just scale the cost by number of employees.  Basically, I'm looking for a service that automates as much as possible even with the small number of employees I have.  Your service just failed at the first hurdle.

    Hi Matt,

    Thanks for your feedback.

I want to take the time to explain to you the “behind the scenes” of our pricing structure, because I don’t want you to think it has been put up without any thought.

In fact we’ve been considering for the past 4 months exactly how we are going to price Paycycle given what’s available in the market, considering you’ll use our product in conjunction with accounting packages (like Xero) and taking into account the features we want to offer and the overall quality of our product.

We think there might be two thoughts that fostered your comments.

The first is that we might have just confused you in the way we structured the pricing page in terms of number of employees, so we just changed the way it was written, and we think it is clearer now (e.g. the Small plan said 2-5 employees, when the idea is that you can manage UP TO 5 employees with that plan). In other words, you are not restricted to a plan by the number of employees you manage. So, for example, if you have 4 employees, but you really want the full package, you will be able to choose the plan that has all automations, like automatic super payment, automatic employee payments, etc. It is not restrictive to the number of employees; you just choose the plan that suits you most.

If that’s not the case and you thought that it was too expensive, or you have 4-5 employees and wanted all the features included in our smaller plan, we think it all comes down to expectations. As a friend said, “you cannot have a Rolls Royce in a VW budget”. The main difference in all plans comes from the automation, and that is because it costs us at the very least, a transaction fee every time a customer of ours pays employees and super (let alone the hours of development and infrastructure costs).
And one thing we didn’t want in our pricing model was to have a monthly fee and then, like MYOB does, wack another fee, and another fee, and then another fee on top of what you already pay in order to have that kind of automation. Hence, we can’t offer automations for the smaller plans, because we would actually lose money!

In addition to all that, we also needed to take into account what we think is good value. And so we firmly believe that being able to do absolutely everything no matter how many employees you‘ve got (consider we are talking small businesses here!) for $39 a month (without considering the fact that we will also offer discounts for yearly subscriptions), that is for less than your normal MYOB subscription and getting a great deal more, is providing our customers with an excellent value offer.

I hope you can see our point of view, but if you’d like to discuss further, feel free to get in touch via email (stuart.mcleod@paycycle.com.au) or even ring me on my mobile (0409 439 690).

We are standing by our structures, we don’t think we have failed any hurdles, but we appreciate your feedback and we‘ll be guided by the majority of our customers.

    Cheers,

    Stuart.
