FAQs

Paycycle users often ask about our browsers, security, tax calculations, employee portal, superannuation and the inclusion of extra features such as their company logo. These are all great questions, which we have addressed below. And please feel free to send us more queries at support@paycycle.com.au if there is something important we haven't included.

Supported Browsers

As you know, Paycycle uses the latest technology for its payroll system. We support any browser that has a Microsoft Silverlight 3.0 plug in, which includes the following. Please note this list is ever-growing.

On PCs: Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8, Firefox, SeaMonkey, Safari, Google Chrome.

On Macs: Firefox, Safari.

Locked Out!

What happens if I get locked out of the system? If you get your password wrong three times, you will automatically be locked out of Paycycle as a security precaution. We realise this may be frustrating but your privacy and security are vital.

Paycycle does not provide a password reset or account unlock function yet. At this stage, to unlock your account, you will need to contact our friendly customer support. Please send us an email at support@paycycle.com.au and we will respond ASAP. When you  do contact us for your account unlock, would you please also check that unlock is all you need or whether you also need a password reset.

Differences in the Tax Calculation

Some users have reported small differences in the tax calculation between Paycycle and other payroll systems. The calculation should be exactly the same. There should be no difference at all. If a difference has occurred, it is most likely caused by the leave loading tax table in another product and not in Paycycle.

To set this right, click the employees button at the top of this page, then go to Employee Management and the tax declaration tab. Here, you will find an Eligible to receive Leave Loading checkbox, which controls this option. Please check it and the tax calculation should be the same!

Employee Portal

Yes, there is going to be an employee portal but this is currently under development. This portal will allow your employees direct access to their payslips and payment summaries. Isn’t that convenient?

Super Membership

To set up a super membership, first you need to record the super fund details.

This may be achieved by clicking on the Settings button at the top of this page and then the Super Accounts button. You may also click the + button and add the super fund your employee belongs to.  For more information, go to our tutorial here.

Paying Super

At this stage, Paycycle calculates the super to be paid and displays it on your payslip. We will release a super report soon, which you may use at the end of the quarter to determine how much and to whom to pay your super. In the long run, we will link to a super clearing house.

Payslip Logo

Paycycle is also developing the functionality to allow customers to upload their logo onto their payslips. If you would like to have your logo included on your payslip before we develop this function, please email your company’s logo to support@paycycle.com.au and we will upload it for you. But, hang in there, soon you will be able to do it on your own.

Terminate Employees

The unique feature to mark your employee as terminated will be available very soon (our development department is not sleeping). In the meantime, if you wish to have this feature, you may create a support ticket and we’ll do the rest for you.

Remember, terminating an employee simply records an end date for their service period and excludes them from future pay runs. Their historical data is still retained and may be viewed in the normal way, which includes accessing reports that span the terminated employee's service period.

Tax Scales & Deductions

Based on the answers your employees have provided on their tax declaration, Paycycle automatically selects the appropriate tax scale and deducts tax. The amount of tax is then displayed on their payslip.

Pay Run Test Run

Paycycle allows you to do a test run before processing the real thing. If you like, you can create a  pay run, view the results and change any aspect of it before you actually permanently lock in your payroll. Remember, your pay run will only be processed when you are ready and have clicked the "Post Pay Run" button. So enjoy customising your payroll to meet your company's unique needs before you run your five minute payroll.
