Supported Browsers
We support any browser that has a Silverlight 3.0 plug in. Currently these are as follows, but the list is growing:
On PCs: Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8, Firefox, SeaMonkey, Safari, Google Chrome
On Macs: Firefox, Safari
Locked Out!
If you get your password wrong 3 times you get locked out as a security precaution.
There is no password reset or account unlock function yet. At this stage these need to be done by our lovely customer support. When you contact us for account unlock, please determine if unlock is all that is needed, or a password reset is also required.
Differences in the Tax Calculation
Some users have reported small differences in the tax calculation between Paycycle and other payroll systems. The calculation should be EXACTLY the same, and probably the cause can be the use of the "leave loading" tax table in the other product, and not in Paycycle.
To set this right, click the Employees button at the top of the page, then go to Employee Management and then Tax Declaration tab. There you’ll find an "Eligible to receive Leave Loading" checkbox which controls this option. Check it and the tax calculation should be the same!
Employee Portal
Yes, there is going to be an employee portal, but currently is under development. This portal will allow your employees direct access to their payslips and payment summaries. Isn’t that convenient?
Super Membership
To set up a super membership you first need to record the super fund details.
This is done by clicking the Settings button at the top of the page, then the Super Accounts button. You can then click the + button and add the super funds that your employees belong to. You can find the whole Tutorial here.
Paying Super
At this stage Paycycle calculates the Super to be paid and displays it on the payslip. We will release a Super report soon, which you would use at the end of the quarter to determine how much and to whom to pay the Super. In the longer term we will link to a Super clearing house.
Payslip Logo
Functionality to allow upload of customer's logo to include on payslips is being developed. If you are REALLY keen on having your logo on your payslip before we develop the function, you can email your company’s logo to support@paycycle.com.au and we can upload it for you (until you are able to do it on your own).
Terminate Employees
Another nice feature that will be available as soon as possible (our development department is not sleeping!).
In the meantime, if you want to mark an employee as terminated you can create a support ticket and we’ll do it for you.
Terminating an employee just records an end date for their service period and excludes them from future pay runs. All historical data is retained and can be viewed in the normal way, and any reports that span their service period will include their details.
Tax Scales & Deductions
Based on the answers you provide on the tax declaration, Paycycle automatically selects the appropriate tax scale and deducts tax. The amount of tax is then displayed on the payslip.
Pay Run Test Run
You can create a pay run, view the results and change whatever you want. The pay run is only locked when you click the "Post Pay Run" button.
