Go Back

After Paycycle's HTML release, all blue and in HTML, we are very happy to announce that today at 11.59PM we will be turning off Paycycle's Silverlight application. For good.

There are several reasons to terminate forever and ever Silverlight, the most important ones being:

1. HTML rocks: Stuart posted a very long blogpost on why we decided to move to HTML, even though we initially had released Paycycle in Silverlight. Basically, we like better (and we know you'll like better) HTML. That, added to the fact that Xero (the cool accounting system that acquired us) runs in HTML, that HTML can be accessed from any device, and that it's filled with heaps of goodness, is a clear indication of one thing: HTML is the way to go.

2. The new look will be the look: we know adapting is not necessarily an easy thing, but truth is the new Xero-blue look, that makes Paycycle's HTML interface so beautiful, will be the one we will be sticking to. Hence, we need to "force" at some stage the embracing of the new design. And we believe this is the time.

3. Maintenance: last, but not least (probably this one should have been #1!), it's really hard to keep both systems, platform and applications running at the same time. And since we have made the decision to move on from Silverlight, then we need to make the decision to serve you best. And that means having only one of the two running.

In case you freak out, we have some "break glass" support material that can help you cope, including videos and articles where to find what you knew in Silverlight in Xero.

And, as usual, if you don't find the answers there, feel free to drop us a line on support [at] paycycle.com.au.

Like Europe would say,

"With so many light years to go,

and things to be found,

I'm sure that we'll all miss her so...

It's the final countdown"
